Location: 100 Belwood Gateway
Position Summary: The Pool Manager must meet the qualifications defined for the Lifeguard position and follow rules and conduct requirements. The Pool Manager is an active staff lifeguard with certification and is also responsible for swim lessons instruction.
Responsibilities:
Manage Lifeguard Staff:
- Participate in recruiting Lifeguards and swim lesson instructors (lifeguards hired by Facilities Manager).
- Conduct lifeguard orientation through group and individual sessions, including the Facilities Manager during orientation.
- Schedule lifeguards for weekly guard shifts and special events.
- Schedule swim lesson instructors.
- Publish and communicate work schedules.
- Review and approve time cards; deliver them to the Facility Manager.
- Monitor lifeguard staff to ensure adequate performance of lifeguard responsibilities.
- Perform end-of-season performance reviews for each lifeguard on staff and review with the Facilities Manager for potential rehires.
Facility Responsibilities:
- Enforce all facility policies, rules, and regulations.
- Make periodic safety/cleanliness checks of pool facilities and bathrooms throughout shifts. Replenish bathroom supplies (TP, paper towels, and soap).
- Perform emergency clean-up and sanitization of the facility in the event of non-hygienic conditions.
- Monitor and document all chemical readings. Clear the pool and close the facility if a situation presents a safety hazard.
- Empty all garbage cans into the dumpster daily.
- Wash the pool deck and sidewalks twice per week.
- Provide proper and secure care of money and fees.
- Follow opening procedures: open umbrellas, organize pool furniture, replenish bathroom supplies, pick up trash from the pool deck.
- Follow closing procedures: close umbrellas, organize pool furniture, pick up trash from the pool area, clean bathrooms.
- Clear the pool area of all patrons at closing time. Key holders may return to the pool area after closing time.
Communicate with Supervisor and Board:
- Participate in weekly discussions with the supervisor to provide status on staff performance, facilities, duties, and swim lessons. Escalate urgent issues to the supervisor or a board member immediately.
- Present a status report to the Board of Directors at monthly HOA meetings (held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month in May, June, July, and August).
Coordinate Swim Lessons Program:
- Establish swim lesson schedules.
- Coordinate swim lessons enrollment with parents.
- Track and collect swim lesson fees; deliver payment with deposit documentation to the lock box in the office.
- Communicate with parents and instructors to advance water safety and swimming skills of students.
Fourth of July Party:
- Organize the Cabana Fourth of July party, which typically includes games, activities, and contests. The lifeguard staff plans, organizes, advertises, and staffs the event.
- Decorate the Cabana, rent a bouncy house, plan food and supplies. Coordinate purchases with the Facilities Manager for payments.

- Certified Lifeguard with swim instruction experience.

- Ability to enforce policies and ensure a safe and clean facility.
- Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and special events.
