We're Hiring - Lifeguard

Location: 100 Belwood Gateway

Position Summary: Lifeguards for Belwood must have the following certifications/training certificates: Lifeguard training and CPR for the professional rescuer.

Work schedule will be weekends from Memorial Day weekend until June. Guards will be daily from June through mid September. Weekends only from mid Sept thru Labor Day September 1.

Plan on working 18-24 hours per week once we are on a daily pool schedule,  Shifts run from 1pm-7pm 7 days a week. Vacations with family etc. can be scheduled around.

Responsibilities:

Belwood Lifeguards supervise the pool for safety to ensure all members and guests follow all cabana rules. Lifeguards also have some light tasks i.e. taking out trash and monitoring supplies in bathrooms. All Lifeguards will report to the Pool Manager.

Lifeguards must wear attire that identifies them as lifeguards and all attire will be provided to them.

Facility Responsibilities:

• Enforce all facility policies, rules, and regulations.
• Make periodic safety/cleanliness checks of pool facilities and bathrooms throughout shifts. Replenish bathroom supplies (TP, paper towels, and soap).
• Perform emergency clean-up and sanitization of the facility as needed in the event of non-hygienic conditions.
• Empty all garbage cans into the dumpster daily.
• Wash the pool deck and sidewalks twice per week.
• Follow opening procedures: open umbrellas, organize pool furniture, replenish bathroom supplies, pick up trash from the pool deck.
• Follow closing procedures: close umbrellas, organize pool furniture, pick up trash from the pool area, clean bathrooms.
• Clear the pool area of all patrons at closing time. Key holders may return to the pool area after closing time.

Fourth of July Party:

• support the Cabana Fourth of July party, which typically includes games, activities, and contests. The lifeguard staff plans, organizes, advertises, and staffs the event.
• Decorate the Cabana, rent a bouncy house, plan food and supplies. Coordinate purchases with the Facilities Manager for payments.

Qualifications:

• Must meet the qualifications defined for the Lifeguard position.
• Certified Lifeguard with swim instruction experience.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to enforce policies and ensure a safe and clean facility.
• Flexible schedule, including availability for evenings, weekends, and special events.
